Do you know how to distinguish your cold?
There are mainly two kinds of cold in Oriental Medicine, "Wind Cold" and "Heat Cold". Know how to distinguish them and get yourself treated with right kind of herbs.
"Wind Cold" symptoms :
Clear nasal discharge
Sneezing and coughing with clear phlegm
Phlegm appears to be clear
Usually no fever
Body aches from wind or cold air exposure
Floating pulse
"Heat Cold" symptoms :
Yellow and thick body secretions
Fever or high fever
Sweating
Sneezing with thick nasal secretions
Cough with thick phlegm
Tense pulse
In addition to the above two forms of cold, there is also a "Damp-Heat Cold" that is caused by dampness and summer heat, accompanied with Qi and/or Yin deficiency.
Dam-heat type is mostly seen, which presents itself with a fever, slight aversion to cold, absent or only mild sweating, a heavy and and distending pain in the head, chest oppression, thirst nausea, limb soreness or pain, and scanty yellowish urine.
